Accurate evaluation of liver fibrosis is crucial for therapeutic management and prognosis in patients with chronic liver diseases. Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and sonoelastography can indirectly assess liver fibrosis by noninvasively analyzing hepatic microcirculation and liver stiffness
respectively
with the advantage of easy operation and high accuracy. This article emphasizes in reviewing the clinical value of new ultrasonographic techniques in the assessment of liver fibrosis.
