To investigate the application value of MRI-ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy in patients with negative ultrasound findings.
Methods:
Four cases with prostate cancer who underwent ultrasound-guided biopsy were selected. All cases underwent MRI examination 1 week before surgery and had the manifestations of suspicious prostate cancer which were not found by ultrasound. MRI-ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy was applied in the diagnosis of prostate lesions.
Results:
Four cases had 5 suspicious prostate lesions. There were 4 lesions diagnosed as prostate cancer
and 1 lesion diagnosed as benign prostatic hyperplasia. The positive rate was 80%.
Conclusion:
MRI-ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy can improve the positive rate of prostate cancer in the patients with negative ultrasound findings.
