To investigate the features of clinical manifestations and CT findings of splenic lymphangiomas (SLA).
Methods:
A total of 11 cases of SLA confirmed by surgery and pathology were analyzed retrospectively
9 with epigastric CT scans and enhanced scans and 2 with epigastric CT enhanced scan directly. The clinical features and CT findings were observed and summarized.
Results:
There were 6 cases with splenomegaly and 2 of them were complicated with bleeding gums and anemia; 2 with multiple lesions inside spleen and 9 with solitary lesion. All the patients had no calcification and envelope. All lesions were shown as cystic low-density areas inside spleens on CT scans
among which 6 with single cystic lesion and 5 with multiple cystic lesions. The cystic wall and septum of lesi
ons were mildly to moderately enhanced during the arterial and portal venous phases. Three lesions were mildly enhanced during the delay phase
and 1 of them showed enhancement of cystic contents.
Conclusion:
SLA is shown as cystic density shadow on CT scan. Enhanced scanning can display different degrees of enhancement and the character of delayed enhancement.
