To investigate the clinical and ultrasonographic features of ovarian dysgerminoma.
Methods:
From June 2017 to December 2020
the clinical characteristics and sonographic features of 24 cases with ovarian dysgerminoma surgically confirmed in Pecking Union Medical College Hospital were reviewed.
Results:
The medical records of 24 patients with ovarian dysgerminoma were reviewed. The average age was (19.38.3) years. 87.5% (21/24) cases were unilateral. Elevated serum level of human chorionic gona
dotropin (hCG) was observed in 85.7% (12/14) patients
ranging from 28 to 8 660 U/L. 29.2% (7/24) patients with gonadal dysgenesis
chromosome karyotypes were all 46
type XY. Among them
71.4% (5/7) lesions did not be showed by ultrasound clearly
including 3 bilateral lesions.19 lesions were showed by ultrasound in 19 cases
average maximum diameter was (14.76.2) cm
78.9% (15/19) were lobulated
mainly solid or solid
all had clear boundaries
high echo separation and partition bar flow signals visible in 68.4% (13/19).
Conclusion:
Ovarian dysgerminoma were mostly unilateral pelvic lesions in young women patients
which can be accompanied by elevated hCG level. Ovarian dysgerminoma has obvious ultrasonographic characteristics.Patients with gonadotic dysplasia can be bilateral lesions and may be difficult to detect through ultrasound due to small lesions.
